A free, volunteer-run, massive-multiplayer, alternate reality game held each Spring in the District of Columbia.

About SurviveDC

The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger’s signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it.

SurviveDC is a race through the streets of DC. You will try to visit checkpoints as fast as you can while avoiding being caught by chasers. Those who survive will be praised and feted at the end. Those who fall will become chasers themselves, rising to pursue their former friends and allies.

The most recent SurviveDC was held in 2014 and entertained more than 1,800 players of all ages, from all over DC and far beyond. We've been on a bit of break but hoping that a hero emerges to pick up where things left off. Will it be you? Check out the archive and get in touch to signal your readiness.

The upcoming movie follows four teams as well as staff, chasers and renegades as they journey to the end of the night. Their stories are intricately weaved together with interviews exploring the strange history of this game.
